The ability to squat well directly relates to movement related activities of daily living, such as being able to get out of bed and out of a chair. Although it’s a basic movement, many people assume it is an easy one to perform and doesn’t require any practise. However, the way that we live and work nowadays means that the majority of people have lost the ability to squat correctly because of muscle weakness & imbalance.

Even if you choose to do no other exercise, a squat exercise is essential especially as you get older. In the following link you will see the basic set up of a squat, how to progress the movement to challenge you, and how to perform the movement safely.
