Don’t let the idea of yet another Monday, and another week get you down. Think of Monday morning as a brand new start and a launching pad for success - a chance to set some new goals. Looking at the new week in the same way you might look at the New Year, is a fantastic approach to making the most of all the opportunities that the new week offers. So what are your health goals for the week? Just think of all you could achieve on your journey to vitality and wellness in the next seven days?
Take a moment to consider some short term goals. Medium and long term goals come later. Today we are just talking about the first baby steps - realistic and achievable goals for the next seven days. Why don’t you grab a notebook and write some down?
Here are some ideas to kick-start your thinking:
“I will add two pieces of fresh fruit to my diet each day.”
“I will take twenty minutes for meditation at the start of each day six days per week."
"I will briskly walk within my training range for 30 minutes four times this week.”
“I will try out a new healthy recipe to cook on Wednesday evening"
"I will drink six glasses of water a day for the next week.”
Whatever goals you set for Monday, once you commit to them they will help you start the week with a sense of purpose. Once you feel the success of small, weekly changes, you’ll be motivated to continue those changes and make other beneficial ones! Remember, small improvements carried out consistently eventually add up. Begin meeting your health goals in a specific, measurable, action-oriented, realistic, and timely manner today for a lifetime of stronger, more positive tomorrows.
Have a happy and healthy week everyone.
